Our heritage

We take our name 'G Plan' from Ebenezer Gomme, an enterprising furniture maker who established our first factory in 1898. Throughout the 60's and 70's G Plan became an iconic brand, creating contemporary designs that are still relevant to this day. And as our business continues to grow, we have become one of the UK's biggest, most innovative, furniture manufacturers.

Our craftsmanship

So what is it that makes G Plan upholstery so comfortable?

It's all thanks to our Design Director, Simon Wade and his team. He has worked as both an upholsterer and a master craftsman, training with a number of influential designers to understand aesthetics and engineering. He has also worked internationally for a number of leading manufacturers, notably in America and Italy. It is this level of expertise that sets us apart from other furniture brands.

From design to production, our planning is equally meticulous. Skilled workers craft our upholstery using hardwood for load bearing areas and long-lasting fabrics for durability.
